Dr. Kerns is dedicated to improving the quality of relationships through a depth understanding of the human condition. This approach embraces spiritual, mythic, family systems, and object relations theories of psychology in an “engagement” fashion.
Dr. Kerns works together with her clients to help them with their current life challenges and long standing issues. With compassion and understanding, she has helped individuals, couples, pre-marital couples and families find resolution to a wide range of personal concerns. Many of her clients prefer to work on finding their purpose and meaning in life, as well as finding their true calling. You may wonder how that is accomplished.
With an integration of Jungian and Object Relation approaches she provides a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, offering a personalized approach, and integrating the techniques that are suited to her client’s individual needs. Dr. Kerns will draw from a variety of methodologies and techniques. She may work with Dream images, Journaling, Mythology, and Restructing negative self-talk. Sometimes, all that is needed is understanding, to help you link your current life situation to your past, and provide a bridge to your authentic self.
Dr. Kerns is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist as well as a Certified Stress Management Coach. Offering services in Pre-Marital, Relationship Counseling, Internet Compulsive Addictions, Mid-life Women, and Victims of Crime Counseling.
